Содержание
One of the most interesting lyrical moments in this song is Plant's updated blues cliche', the "new fangled back door man". "Back door man" is a term used to describe a woman's secret, or alternative lover, who may enter the house via the back door to preserve the secrey of the affair. Plant's spin on this, the "new fangled" version, may imply that the lover has a unique style, or is particularly up-to-date in appearance or some other detail about him. It could also be that he is reflecting that times have changed since this ancient blues mannerism was first used. Another song that revolves around this concept is the Doors' "Back Door Man".

Текст

Workin’ from seven
To eleven every night,
It really makes life a drag,
I don't think that's right.
I've really been the best, the best of fools.
I did what I could, yeah.
‘cause I love you baby,
How I love you darlin' how I love you baby,
My, I love you girl, little girl.

But baby, since I've been lovin' you, yeah,
I'm about to lose my worried mind, oh yeah.

Everybody tryin' to tell me that you didn't mean me no good,
I've been tryin', Lord, let me tell ya, let me tell ya
I really did the, best I could.
I’ve been, I've been working from seven
To eleven every night,
I said it kind of makes my life a drag, drag, drag, drag,
Lord, yeah, that's right now, now.

Since I've been lovin' you I'm about to lose my worried mind.
Watch out!

Said I been cryin', yeah.
Whoa, my tears they felt like rain,
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them fallin',
Don't you hear, don't you hear them fallin'?

Do you remember, Mama, when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me
You didn't want me no more, yeah.
I open my front door, I hear my back door slam,
You know I must have one of them
New fangled, new fangled back door man,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I've been a-working from seven, seven, seven
To eleven every night,
It kinda makes my life a drag, a drag, drag.
Ah yeah, it makes a drag.
Baby since I've been lovin' you, I'm about to lose,
I'm about to lose, lose my worried mind.

An' just one more, just one more.
Oh yeah, since I’ve been lovin’ you
I’m gonna lose my worried mind.
